Frequently asked questions
Billing, quotas and plan changes. Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].
- Is the free plan really free?
- Yes. The Free plan is 100,000 requests a month at 5 a second, with no card and no time limit, and commercial use is allowed. Your key works once your email is verified.
- How does billing work?
- Paid plans aren't on sale yet. When they are, they'll be billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, by card through Stripe's secure checkout. If you need one now, contact us.
- Do prices include tax?
- No. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. Checkout works out any tax due from your billing address, and you can add your business tax ID there.
- What counts as a request?
- Every request from any key on your account. Months run in UTC and reset on the 1st. Requests refused because your email isn't verified (403) or a limit was reached (429), and our own errors (5xx), don't count.
- What happens when I go over my quota?
- Nothing yet: monthly quotas aren't enforced, and we'll email every account before they are. Once they are, the Free plan stops at its quota until the 1st, while paid plans keep answering up to 10% over it so you have time to upgrade. A refused request gets a 429 whose message says how to get more and when the quota resets. Over the per-second limit, the API answers 429 with a Retry-After header: wait a moment and retry.
- Can I get a refund?
- Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. When you cancel, your plan continues until the end of the period you've paid for. The Terms of Service have the details.
- Do you offer an SLA?
- The Business plan will include a 99.9% uptime SLA and priority support when paid plans launch. If you need one sooner, or custom terms, contact us.
The Terms of Service cover plans, payments, refunds and the Business SLA in full; the rate-limit docs explain the limits and headers.
