History
How Vanuatu keeps time.
Vanuatu has used UTC+11:00 since 1912, when the islands were jointly run by Britain and France, and kept it at independence in 1980. It tried daylight saving time (UTC+12:00) in the 1973–74 summer and again every summer from 1983 to early 1993, but has stayed on UTC+11:00 all year since.
