How Turks and Caicos Islands keeps time.
The Turks and Caicos Islands have used Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00) since 1912 and added U.S.-style daylight saving time (UTC-04:00 in summer) in 1979. On 8 March 2015 the territory switched to Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-04:00) all year and stopped changing clocks. The experiment ended on 11 March 2018, when the islands returned to Eastern Time and the U.S. and Canadian daylight saving schedule.
