How Tokelau keeps time.
Tokelau kept UTC-11:00 from 1901 to 2011, which put it on the eastern side of the International Date Line, a day behind New Zealand. At the end of 2011 it skipped 30 December and moved to UTC+13:00, joining the western side of the date line so it shares New Zealand’s calendar day and aligning banking and business with Auckland rather than Honolulu.
